Loko Natyadal

Coordinator and Actor

Loko Natyadal is one of the leading amateur theatre groups in Bangladesh. Established in 1981, the group is known for its commitment to staging world classics, modern plays, folk dramas, and works that reflect the essence of common people’s lives. Loko Natyadal has produced over 41 plays and performed in more than 2,000 shows, including the famous production of “Kanjush” (The Miser) by Moliere, which has surpassed 700 performances.

Volunteer in Different Events

Mashud Sumon is actively involved as a volunteer in various programs with the Bangladesh Group Theatre Federation (BGTF), including festivals, World Theatre Day celebrations, seminars, and more. BGTF, founded in 1980, is the central organization for over 350 theater troupes across the country, playing a key role in the theater movement by promoting cultural awareness and developing theater culture. The federation works to protect the professional interests of theater artists, develop drama, and organize workshops and festivals at national and international levels. I have worked closely with him on many projects under this federation, particularly with Loko Natyadal, and can vouch for his character and abilities.

The People’s Theatre Association is a prominent organization in Bangladesh dedicated to promoting theatre arts, particularly focusing on children’s and youth theatre. PTA organizes the National and International Children and Youth Theatre Festivals, and provides training workshops across various districts, fostering a strong foundation for future generations of theatre artists.

It is the country’s oldest and most established television channel, known for its diverse programming that includes drama, news, documentaries, and educational content. Mashud Sumon is a distinguished director and theater artist recognized for his remarkable contributions to street theater in Bangladesh. As an executive member and Publication Secretary of the Bangladesh Street Theatre Council, he plays a crucial role in supporting around 75 theater groups that actively engage in street performances nationwide. The Council promotes social and political awareness, addressing issues such as women’s rights, child labor, and bigotry, while fostering a sense of patriotism. Mashud Sumon’s leadership and unwavering commitment have made him a respected figure in the theater community.
