Excellence in Acting Award

I am deeply honored to have received multiple awards for my role in Kanjush, a play based on Moliere’s The Miser, which has become the most staged play in Bangladesh. Over the years, I have been awarded for the 500th, 600th, and 700th performances of this iconic play by Loko Natyadal. These milestones are not just a testament to the play’s enduring appeal but also to the collective effort of our incredible theatre troupe. I have been performing from the 471st staging to the 735th staging until today and have performed in 250 screenings since the start.

Participating in the AACT World Fest, USA 2022 was a defining experience in my career as a theatre professional. Our production was selected to represent Bangladesh on an international stage, allowing us to showcase our rich cultural heritage through the performing arts. The event was a celebration of global theatre, where our work received acclaim for its authenticity and artistic excellence.

Directing Kanjush was a significant milestone in my journey as a theatre director. Best Film (Jury) at 11th Delhi Short International Film Festival 2022

Directing Dusky Voyage was a pivotal moment in my career as a filmmaker. This short film was recognized at the 11th Delhi Short International Film Festival in 2022, where it received the prestigious Best Film (Jury) award. The film’s success underscored the power of storytelling through cinema and the importance of cultural narratives.

Quarter-Finalist at the Student World Impact Film Festival (SWIFF)

Dusky Voyage continued to garner attention and was named a Quarter-Finalist in the Best Drama category at the Student World Impact Film Festival in 2023, USA. This recognition further highlighted the film’s impact and resonated with audiences across the globe.

Dusky Voyage was also celebrated on home soil, receiving a Special Screening and Honor from the Bangladesh Short Film Forum in 2023. This recognition emphasized the film’s cultural relevance and its ability to connect with local audiences.

Participation Appreciation from People’s Repertory Theatre Troupe

My involvement with the People’s Repertory Theatre Troupe at various Children Theatre Festivals from 2006 to 2009, 6th-9th, National Children & Youth Theatre Festival which is organized by People’s Theatre Association (PTA) has been incredibly fulfilling. The appreciation I received during these years is a testament to the impact we have made on young audiences and the future of theatre.

Recognition of Excellence - SAARC. 2017

SAARC Exhibition and Workshop on Handicrafts 2017’ and ‘SAARC Cultural Festival on Traditional Dance 2017’ organized by Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy was held at Nandan Moncho of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy on 30 November 2017, Thursday at 5.30 pm.

The closing ceremony of the program was held at National Theatre hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy on 3 December 2017, Sunday at 5.30 pm.Mr. AsaduzzamnNur, Cultural Minister, Ministry of Cultural Affairs was the chief guest. Mr. WasantheKotuwella, Director, SAARC Cultural Centre was the special guest. Mr. Wasantha Kotuwella handed over a HONORARY AWARD as the coordinator of this festival.

HONORARY Appreciation from Baithok Shishu-Kishor Theater, 2023

On August 30, the play ‘Abinshwar Bangabandhu’, produced by Baithok Shishu-Kishor Theater, was performed at the studio theater hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy. The play was written by Shaheen Reza Russell and directed by Hasan Mahadi. The event was graced by the presence of Lucky Enam, the Honorable President of Bangladesh Shishu Academy, who served as the chief guest. Special guests included poet Ram Chandra Das, Mahabub Sobhan, the main program anchor of Bangladesh Betar, and actor and director Chaklader Mustafa Al Mashudd. The meeting was presided over by poet Shaheen Reza Russell. A heartfelt thank you was extended to everyone involved in making this event a success, including the full auditorium of enthusiastic audience members.
